This year, the Barcelona Boat Show celebrates a milestone, the 60th edition of the most relevant nautical exhibition in southern Europe, and undoubtedly a global reference. This year features the largest floating display in recent years, with over 220 exhibitors showcasing leading market brands and more than 700 boats, including almost thirty catamarans, the type of vessel experiencing the greatest market growth, with waiting lists that can extend up to two years. From October 12 to 16, sea enthusiasts have their ultimate showcase in Barcelona, with exhibitors, demonstrations, the latest technological advances, talks, visits....
With the 100,000 nautical certifications issued this year, it is evident that the nautical sector is a highly attractive and continuously growing industry. Not to mention the nearly 5,000 boat registrations that have been completed until August 2022, figures not seen for years. A place where supply and demand converge, creating business opportunities among the 55,000 expected spectators this year.
Additionally, the boat show will feature, for the first time, a dock dedicated to bringing together a total of 15 startups that will showcase their innovations applied to the world of navigation in the new Innovation Dock. Highlighting Catalan company Underwater Gardens International, regenerating the seabed to create underwater landscapes; Italian NL Comp, which has built a 25-foot racing sailboat with sustainable materials such as linen fibers and thermoplastic matrix composites; or Swiss company SwissOceanTech, which has launched its AnchorGuardian technology, ensuring anchor stability through sensors when dropped at sea for anchoring. After 60 years showcasing the latest innovations and boats, the Barcelona Boat Show has achieved its goal of promoting and bringing closer the practice of sports and recreational nautical activities.
