The new offering from the Dutch shipyard Edorado is the Edorado 8S model, which stands out primarily because, once sailing, the boat glides on two foils that drastically reduce friction, specifically by more than 60%, resulting in unprecedented fuel consumption reduction.
In addition, we must add the efficiency of its two zero-emission electric motors that propel it at 25 knots cruising speed, with a maximum speed of 38 knots and an approximate range of 40 nautical miles.
The integrated bathing platform features an electric extension system that makes it appear in a matter of seconds, giving the boat a more ergonomic and elegant look.
As expected, the interior of the 8S is also cutting-edge. Front and center, the dashboard boasts three 15-inch touchscreens providing access to crucial data and a bit of entertainment if desired. Naturally, the operating system also performs wireless software updates to ensure it stays current.
The cabin includes integrated ambient lighting, a Bluetooth sound system, and even a built-in picnic set with a wine cooler. There's also ample onboard storage for water toys and other essentials.
What is considered innovation in the boating industry is no longer enough in the current reality of the climate crisis," Groothuis said in a statement. "Our goal with the Edorado 8S is to chart a course for clean motorized navigation."
The selling price will be around €350,000, once it hits the market in 2023.
